This is what I have:

1 large concrete slab patio.

500 bricks from home (plate)

Questions:

Can ordinary bricks, as I do? Refractory bricks is it really necessary?

Can I use my concrete patio as a base, or should a new base?

Grill a mortar in a position to resist strong winds (I live in Houston)?

Suggestions on how I should proceed? Barbecue mortar shots?
